Review & Giveaway -Rock N Learn
Yay for educational DVDs! I am so excited to introduce you to Rock 'N Learn. This great company combines catchy songs and fun animation with educational content.Once again a Mother's dream when you can mesh fun, and educational in the same batch and achieve success!
I was sent Nursery Rhymes from the Preschool & Kindergarten collection, Money Making & Change from the Math collection, and my personal favorite...The Human Body, from the Science and Social Studies collection.
(This picture cracks me up! Try getting all 4 kids to look at the camera and smile at the same time, what a challenge!)
Brianna my 20 month old LOVED the Rock N Learn Nursery Rhymes DVD, she was dancing around and singing the entire time it was on, it totally kept her attention!
These nursery rhymes programs put a new spin on the classics to make favorite rhymes come alive. Brother and Sister Goose join Mother Goose to present 43 rhymes using upbeat, pop-style music sung to traditional and new melodies. The playful geese lead kids through each rhyme, teaching them about being safe, using manners, and accepting responsibility.
Avery my 7 year old was digging the Money Making & Change video, and I thought it was cute too, the main characters in that one were "Penny" & "Bill", I didn't mind watching this DVD with the kids at all, I thought it was well put together and smart! I liked reviewing this video especially because our family likes to go to yard sales, and the kids have an assortment of their own money they use for this. It is a great way to practice, and the video reinforced real world situations. Penny and Bill know how to shake things up when it comes to counting money and making change. Cool songs and games provide plenty of practice with real-world skills. Learn about coins and how they relate to one another, strategies for counting cash, "skip counting," expressing money in written terms, how to make change, and more. You’ll have lots of fun as you gain valuable skills you can bank on.
My favorite DVD, and it may be because I love Science, was the Human Body DVD, I sat there and watched that one all the way through with the kids, and never got bored. I think it is good for kids to know how their bodies work, as I think it helps them to be more conscientious and proactive about their health!
My 3 older kids ages 13, 11, & 7 were more interested in this one, they commented throughout the DVD on different things, and this video provoked discussion about our hearts, exercising, what happens to our food / the digestive tract, etc. So I have to say we all really enjoyed this DVD!
This entertaining approach to the human body engages young, inquisitive learners, while the depth of material gets older students ready for tests. Join Kevin and his friends Marko and Bailey for an enlightening adventure to explore the skeletal, nervous, muscular, circulatory, urinary, respiratory, and digestive systems along with the five senses. Clear explanations, beautiful science models, and amusing animations make this DVD perfect for the classroom and home. Meets the National Science Education Standards.
I would really love to review more of these, especially in the Math & Science categories, because sometimes those are the subject the kids hem and haw about most. Rock N Learn totally puts an interesting spin on the subjects to keep kids engaged, so even while they are there being occupied. entertained, and rocking out ♫ they are learning! Once again, as a Mother could you really ask for more!?

Review & Giveaway -Hearthsong...Toys you will feel good about giving
I wanted to tell you all about a cool company called Hearthsong. I contacted them because they had so many awesome toys that encouraged imagination, creativity, and physical activity, a mothers dream! I asked them If I could review one of their products, and they graciously agreed to send me something I would like (AWESOME!) here comes the hard part. I had to pick 1 thing I would like to review. There was so much cool stuff, it was a hard choice, but I finally decided on The Tether Ball Game. Remember Tether ball from when we were kids, well let me tell you it isn't a toy of the past, it is alive and well, and still as much fun as it used to be!
TETHER BALL GAME - originally we thought this would be a great thing for all the kids to be able to play with (we have 4 kids ranging in ages from 2-13 and tons of family), but we soon realized, not only do the kids love it, us adults were out there playing too. At a family BBQ we actually had a Tether ball tournament. Talk about a blast from us parents past, and also something kids still find cool, and fun today!
Set up was super easy, as a matter of fact the kids pumped up the ball as Daddy cemented the tether ball set into the ground. This keeps my kids, and their friends busy, their friends love it, because none of them have one!

Hearthsong, has a ton more stuff I cant wait to get for the kids, their products, are original, durable, and fun for everyone as well as affordable! I already started my Christmas list! Review & Giveaway! - Alegria Shoes

So I received a pairs of these unique, cute, and SUPER COMFY kicks from Alegria by PG Lite. I couldn't wait to get them on my feet, so I of course immediately put them on, and didn't take them off until I went to bed! You know how when you get new shoes they aren't usually very comfortable, and you have to break them in. Well as soon as I tried the shoes on I new it wouldn't take long for me to break them in, because they were already comfortable. The thing I liked best was the amazing arch support I felt when I put them on, and throughout the day. I also think they have a unique design, and I love the butterfly emblem on the shoe.
I would give these shoes a very high rating, they are quality made, and look quite durable, comfortable, and cute. I initially thought they were a little pricey at $119.00 but upon researching good quality nursing shoes, I quickly learned that you get what you pay for, and when you are going to be on your feet for 12 hours a day then you want to make sure you are wearing the right shoes! Also if you have a wider foot like me you may want to get the slip-on's, I have to wear a very thin sock with mine so my foot fits, because of my big ole Flintstone feet LOL
I am a nursing student right now, and after my clinical time at the hospital, my dogs are barkin! I am realizing now the importance of a good quality pair of comfortable shoes!
